Emory Crossing
Taylor Morrison's 1,341-home master plan in Hutto with 40' and 50' lots from the $280s and David Weekley townhomes coming.
Emory Crossing is a Taylor Morrison master-planned community in Hutto that started closing homes in 2021 and is still building, with David Weekley Homes adding a townhome section. Homes sit on 40' and 50' lots with prices from about $280K; amenities include a pool, clubhouse and a nature playscape built with the National Wildlife Federation. The combined tax rate was about 2.35% for 2022 and has likely moved since.

My honest take
Emory Crossing is the closest community on this list to Samsung Taylor and one of the few in Hutto with an established amenity package and a mid-2% tax rate. It is a single-builder master plan (Taylor Morrison) with a second builder (David Weekley) arriving, which usually means the main builder sharpens its offers as the competition shows up.
What I like. Location for Samsung commuters, an amenity set that is already built, and Taylor Morrison's quality. The nature playscape is a real amenity for families. The quick-move-in markdowns in September ($15K) were real.
What to watch. Taylor Morrison's rate offer is for strong-credit conventional buyers only; if you are FHA, the better rate deals are at Flora or Prairie Winds. I could not confirm the current combined tax rate or whether the district is a PID, a MUD or both, so that is the first question on tour. One builder means less leverage until Weekley's townhomes are selling.
Who this is for. Samsung Taylor employees and other east-side commuters in the $280K to $450K range with good credit, who want an established neighborhood rather than a brand-new one.
My tour routine here. Model, then quick move-ins by days on market. Ask for the current incentive sheet with APR, and the title company's statement of any PID assessment.
Questions about Emory Crossing
What is the tax rate in Emory Crossing?
Public data shows about 2.35% for 2022. That is roughly 0.3 points above a no-district Hutto home and well below Flora's 2.95%.
Is Emory Crossing a MUD or a PID?
Public listings do not say clearly. Hutto uses both; the title commitment will list any PID assessment and the appraisal district will list any MUD. Ask before you contract.
What does Taylor Morrison's 4.99% require?
In September 2026: a conventional loan through TM Home Funding, a 780 score, 20% down and a minimum loan amount, on quick-move-in homes only. The first year was bought down to 3.99%. FHA buyers will do better on rate at Flora or Prairie Winds.
When do the David Weekley townhomes open?
Announced but not yet priced as of October 2026. Townhomes at a David Weekley finish level would be a new product for Hutto; expect pricing in the low to mid $300s.
Which schools?
Hutto ISD: Cottonwood Creek Elementary feeding Hutto Middle and Hutto High.
